Investigation of the institutionalization process in family companies a search in the province of Mersin

In this study, the operating constitution of the family businesses selected in Mersin province, professionalization, organizational structure, transfer of authority and authorization, management understanding and participation in management, decision making, strategic planning and effective communication system in the context of institutionalization indicators, it is aimed to be evaluated through the eyes of business partners. The research is in the scanning model as it is intended to detect current situation. The study was attended by 12 people selected from stakeholders at various levels of family businesses in Mersin province. A interview form containing semi-structured questions has been prepared for use in interviews with participants. The data obtained from the interview were analyzed by qualitative data analysis method. Looking at the findings obtained from the interviews, the family businesses that entered the institutionalization process, while the operating constitution authority and based on specifying their limitedness, they have been observed to receive professional assistance and attach importance to strategic planning.
