Researc on satisfaction levels and continuation reasons of women who participated in course delivered at the family life center

ABSTRACTRESEARCH ON SATISFACTION LEVELS AND CONTINUATIONREASONS OF WOMEN WHO PARTICIPATED IN COURSES DELIVEREDAT THE FAMILY LIFE CENTERTırınoğlu, Şengül B.Family Economy and Nutrition Training Science Discipline Graduate Thesis,Thesis Consultant: Assistant Professor Dr. Nedime ŞanlıNovember-2006This research has planned and executed for the purpose of determining thereason for continuing attendance and satisfaction levels of women who participatedin courses delivered at Family Life Center (FLC). The research performed with thescanning method. Research realm was 2600 female member registered in 2006 toFLC that is connected to the Metropolitan Municipality Ministry of Education Artand Culture. Sampling was construed by including 250 women trainees whoaccepted to participate in the research. Data were collected by means of surveyapplications. The survey consisted of 2 sections and 27 questions. Data obtainedthrough surveys has been analyzed by using SPSS package programs.According to the findings of the research; 64.8% of the participants leaved atEtimesğut district, nearly half of them were aged 30-39 and graduated from acollage. Most of the trainees being married, considered themselves as being amongmiddle-income level, and 56.4% of the trainees were unemployed. Among thetrainees, participation reasons of most of them to FLC, were to be bodily andmentally healthier, of half of them for free time activity, to relieve of their stress andannoyance, to learn new things and acquire new skills. It was determined thattrainees? education levels, marital status, and employment status were effective ontheir decision to participate in FLC. Participants mostly preferred to join to sportivecourses. It was found that the trainees? education levels, marital status, andemployment status were effective on their participation decision. Trainees indicatedthat by joining those courses, they relieved from their stress and problems andrelaxed, and bodily and mentally felt more peaceful and happy. Education levels,marital status, and employment status of the participants were effective on theirappreciation of benefits they gained from those courses. Most of the trainees hadmade their decision to join the courses by themselves, thought that the courses periodwere sufficient, and declared that there were no any obstacle preventing them fromcoming and joining to those courses. Great majority of the research participants weresatisfied with the courses they joined, found the information delivered and skillsacquired as sufficient. Trainees suggested more advertisement of the FLC course tobe performed by distributing booklets and notices together with the announcementsthrough radio, TV programs, in order to ensure more people to be aware of the thosecourses and take the advantage of them. Most of the participant found the presentcourse variety as sufficient, and assessed the air conditioning, which was one of thephysical environment conditions, illumination, heating, and decoration as good/very,class rooms-workshops equipment as sufficient.
