Abstract (EN)

In recent years, technological developments and demand rise have a huge impact on the methods of manufacturing. Technique of welding is one of these affected procedures. However, it is seen that friction welding method, which is one of solid phase welding techniques, took place especially at the end of 1950s. Parts having various axial symmetries and ferrous or non-ferrous metals can be welded easily by friction welding method. Moreover, welding of different materials is doable by friction welding and it comes into prominence by the meaning of decreasing the expenses. In this investigation, exercise of friction weldability was applied on AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel and St 60 regular structural steel. Thus, it was aimed to reduce the waste of expensive material AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel. Tension and hardness tests were performed to observe mechanical behaviors of samples after the welding processes and then parameters of optimum welding condition were tried to determine by the help of both examining the micro structure and performing EDS analysis on experiment samples.
