Abstract (EN)
In terms of scientific definition or natural marble, stones, dolomitic limestone, such as the result of the metamorphosis of natural rocks as a result of metamorphosis product. Commercially defined marble represents rocks with high durability, which can give blocks and can be cut and polished without breaking, useful polished. The aim of the study is to determine the quality of marble in the marble quarries in Antalya-Elmalı area with physico-mechanical and chemical analyzes, to examine the principles of block taking and working, to observe the export process. The apparent porosity was found to be 4.63% (code A) and 3.83% (code B). The composite value was 95.37% (A code) and 96.17% (B code). The water absorption value was determined as 1.57% (code A) and 1.38% (code B). The percentage of water absorption is less than 7.5% used in natural stones which will be used as paving stones and structures.
