Abstract (EN)
This thesis, " Toponymy of Akhisar Town", is a toponomy study on 2088 names in 1/25000 scale map of Akhisar town. The introduction part of the thesis includes general information about Akhisar's history and geography. Name of locations were classified as Oykonims, Oronims, Horonims, Dromonims, Agronims and Hidronims according to their types in the first part of the thesis. In the second part the name of locations were analyzed lexically and semantically in terms of meanings and sources. In the third part the names were analyzed grammatically within the titles of basic, derived and combined names. In the conclusion part a general evaluation were made in the light of the information attained. Key Words: Akhisar, onomasiology, toponymy, toponymy research.
