Abstract (EN)

Universal design aims to create spaces that allow equal use by individuals of different age groups and ability levels, while accessibility ensures that these spaces can be used by individuals with disabilities, the elderly and other disadvantaged groups. Ergonomics, on the other hand, improves the functionality of designs by increasing the physical and cognitive comfort of users. In this context, smart designs offer significant potential in terms of energy efficiency, user experience and sustainability. The study aims to develop innovative solutions for accessibility problems within the framework of universal design principles and emphasizes the importance of inclusive designs that meet the needs of different user groups. The findings obtained from Crescent Mall and other modern buildings in the thesis reveal that accessibility should not be limited to physical requirements only, but should also be addressed from the perspective of social equality and inclusiveness. The study aims to fill the knowledge gap in this area by providing suggestions for the development of accessibility standards and to encourage the adoption of more inclusive approaches in the field of architecture. As a result, this thesis argues that universal design principles, accessibility and ergonomics should be integrated into smart design processes. The findings provide guidance for the development of more inclusive and sustainable design strategies centered on user experience in future architectural projects. This study provides significant contributions to architecture and design disciplines on both theoretical and practical levels.
