Abstract (EN)
Although cavity flow has a geometrically simple structure, it is a flow type that includes different flow properties. Changes in this flow structure result in very benefical results in heat transfer within the cavity. In the study, the effects of the two-dimensional cylinder placed in 11 different (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6, C7, C8, C9, C10 and C11 cylinder positions) in the open cavity, the stability in these positions and definition of 6 different rotation speeds (∓ 60 rpm, ∓ 120 rpm and ∓ 240 rpm) on the flow structure and heat transfer were analyzed numerically. The cylinder diameter is 0.025m, the length and depth (D/L) ratio of the cavity is 2 and the Reynolds number defined by the cylinder diameter is 10000. Constant heat flux (q=10000 W/m^2) was applied to the cavity walls for heat transfer analysis. Numercial analysis was performed for water as fluid, using ANSYS Fluent package programme based on finite volume method. The rotational speed of the cylinder in the cavity is higher in cases where heat transfer results are higher than in the defined cases. When compared with the empty cavity flow, the C1, C7 and C9 positions have created flow structures in a direction that improves the heat transfer quality in terms of both the rotation speed and the position of the cylinder.
