Abstract (EN)
In this thesis study, the removal of Bromocresol Purple dye from wastewater using the Amberlyst A21, activated carbon and Xhantoria Parietina was investigated. Adsorption and biosorption studies were carried out under various parameters such as contact time, pH, initial dye concentration, adsorbent dosage, and solution temperature on the removal of Bromocresol Purple. Experimental isotherm data were analysed using Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin isotherm equations and the isotherm constants were calculated for the determination of the isotherm parameters which describe the adsorption process. The best fit was obtained by Langmuir model for Amberlyst A21, activated carbon and Xhantoria Parietina. A comparison of kinetic models applied to the adsorption of Bromocresol Purple onto Amberlyst A21 and activated carbon were evaluated for the pseudo-first-order, the pseudo-second-order, and intraparticle diffusion models. The thermodynamic parameters were evaluated for activated carbon adsorbent.
