Abstract (EN)

The alcohol reduction of copper matte glaze is a firing technique that requires a long time experience, struggle and patience. This technique belongs in artistic glazes category which requires teamwork. Application of glaze, accurate firing temperature and length of reduction time are the important points. The contents of high rated copper compounds interact with alcohol while reducing, which creates successful color tones. In this research, alcohol reduction of copper matte glazes are practiced and experienced. This research, consists of three main chapters; in the first chapter, brief information about ceramic, raku and alcohol reduction of copper matte glaze applications presented. The second chapter contains applied firing techniques, summary, history and implementations of ceramic, copper matte glazes, the artists who are using the copper matte glaze firing process, raw materials and oxides used in copper matte glazes, tools and assets in copper matte glaze preparation, methods used in glaze preparation and application techniques, kilns used in firing and firing techniques and these are explained. In the third chapter, charts and consequent productions are presented. In the conclusion; those shown consequent products are examined, then positive and negative results are reviewed.
