Abstract (EN)

A safe and reliable transportation system helps people and goods get where they need to go and connect. This will boost the economy and improve people's life. This thesis focuses on the practical section of the UAV and BIM technology performance in infrastructure projects, in which the UAV can obtain accurate 3D topographic data in rugged terrain and hard-to-reach regions. UAV output data can easily integrate with BIM software to build, design, and manage. This study is about an application study to evaluate the performance of both UAV and BIM-InfraWorks software by comparing terrestrial measurement and CAD design in existing highway design projects. Most of the previous UAV and BIM application examples only cover buildings. There are not many studies that provide information about the use of UAVs and BIM in infrastructure projects. Therefore, this research aims to: 1. To what extent are UAV and BIM tools suitable for manipulating all aspects of infrastructure projects such as data collection, design and management? 2. How does the combination of UAV and BIM work, which have become promising tools for obtaining accurate data compared to terrestrial surveying and traditional CAD design in road projects? The purpose of combining Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) Systems is to obtain precise topography and make it easy to see and explore the ground in real-time. The study results showed that the combined UAV-BIM system produced a large amount of data that could be analyzed. In addition, in a highway project, the design of the road was carried out using BIM technology and the amount of excavation, which is one of the important cost items, was tried to be optimized.
