Abstract (EN)
In our study, radiological evaluations and classifications of impacted teeth of patients who applied to our clinic for lower third molars were performed. For this purpose, 3000 teeth were examined radiologically. Impacted teeth classification based on the position of the teeth in the mandible and their relation with adjacent teeth. In addition, impacted teeth distribution by gender was determined and the findings were discussed with the literature findings. According to the results of our study, distribution of impacted teeth are more common in females than males, it was determined that the impacted third molars was found to have the most vertical and least buccal angular position and in according to Pell-Gregory's classification of impacted 3rd molars; mostly they are class 2 and least class 1. According to Archer's classification of impacted 3rd molars; 46.2% of impacted 3rd molars are position A and least position C (18.1%). In generally, both sided impaction (93.7%) and left lower third molar impaction (51.2%) are more commonly seen. The vertical position determined most commonly among females (64%) and the buccalangular position (100%) determined most commonly among males. Class 1, 2 and 3 have higher incidence among females, besides class 2 has highest incidence both in females and males. Position A was found most frequently in females with 46.6%, and Position A was the most common in males with 45.8%. In conclusion; the most observed position in the evaluation using all three classifications together was class 1, vertical, A with a rate of 26.4%. The least seen position was class 3, mesianguler, C with a frequency of 1.0%.
