Abstract (EN)

Nowadays, utility companies need to apply the Smart Grid concept to manage their physical assets and provide a better service to the consumers and update their systems according to this concept. The first system that the institution needs to integrate with is the Geographical Information System (GIS). Infrastructure distribution agencies collect the data of physical assets in order to record their physical assets. This collected dataset is stored in the Geographic Information System platform. The cost of collecting spatial data is much higher than the costs of other systems. However, the collected data may not be suitable for the system used. Faults can be occurred when importing data from fieldwork or objects drawn on the geographic information system platform. In this case, a misplaced, inexhaustible spatial data set emerges. It is not possible to use the verifiable data. In this case, the previously used system is no longer used. Collected data from the fieldwork is no longer integrated into the system that is seen as faulty. In this thesis study, the problems that utility companies have related to spatial data have been examined and network data that the utility companies have been kept in GIS have been analyzed. And topological solutions were presented to increase the quality of the data after researches. In this way, the topology of the network was improved and the network relations were corrected in the GIS environment. The physical assets of utility companies are are stored in a large and complex set of data in the GIS system. It takes large amount of time to check, correct and report such large data by the GIS team. Moreover, these kinds of mistakes can come out again in the future against. Thanks to the improvements made in the thesis work, algorithms that automate the correction process of the GIS network topology. Analysis were created and the solutions were created. By correcting the topological errors in the thesis study; infrastructure network correction is created.
