Abstract (EN)
In this study, the effects of the particle size of ground bauxite (boehmite) ore from Seydişehir, which is used in alumina production at Eti Alüminyum Co. Inc, on the extraction time and the recovery of Al2O3 has been investigated. Representative samples of bauxite were obtained in different size fractions and these samples are leached for 120 minutes and the recovery of Al2O3 for each fraction was calculated. From this study the optimum size fraction was selected. Different leaching time was applied to the selected size fraction to find out the optimum time for leaching. The results indicated that grinding of bauxite (boehmite) ore below 0,149 mm size and leaching time of 90 minutes was sufficent to obtain optimum recovery.
