Abstract (EN)

Because aluminum and its alloys are durable and economical, they are preferred in various fields such as automotive, aviation and space, construction. Although this metal is preferred in many areas, it also has some disadvantages. The first thing that comes to mind is the low corrosion resistance and wear resistance. In 1946, the first study on this disadvantage was carried out by two friends, Riddel and Brinnel. In their study, by using electroless method, they coated the aluminum surface with nickel and formed a hard, wear and corrosion resistant layer on the surface. In this preferred method, no electricity source is required. In addition, the biggest advantage of this method compared to other surface coating methods is that the coating can be coated with homogeneous and constant thickness on the entire surface. In this study, Al. Electroless Ni-B coating is aimed on the surfaces of 2024 and 7075 alloys. As a result of the literature studies, a suitable Ni-B bath was prepared. Before the aluminum alloys to be coated are taken into the bath, they are made ready for coating by undergoing certain pre-treatments. As a coating parameter, different coating times were studied. Samples with coating times of 10 min, 20 min, 30 min, 60 min and 90 min were prepared and annealed at 4000C for 2 hours. After the coating and annealing processes, the samples were sent to the analysis laboratory for SEM, XRD phase analysis, corrosion test and hardness tests. According to the results, it was observed that the coatings formed on the surface successfully. It was observed that the phases in the Ni-B coating, which we obtained in accordance with the results of the XRD test, matched with the phases obtained as a result of the Ni-B coatings in the literature. Get. GAMRY G750TM was used to measure the corrosion resistance of 2024 and 7075 alloys and was carried out in 3.5% NaCl solution. From the results obtained, it was observed that the coatings made on both alloys showed resistance to corrosion and thus the desired target was achieved. Get. Shimadzu HMV-G-20 was used for Vicker hardness test measurements of 2024 and 7075 alloys. The analysis was carried out 5 measurements for each sample for 10 seconds under 50 g load. When the results obtained are examined, it has been observed that the hardness values of the coatings performed on both alloys are higher than the pure sample, they match the values in the literature and the desired target has been achieved.
