Sense and the sensibility of the people before the operation

SUMMARY The study was made to determine pre-operative anxiety and alexitimity operating patients who are in surgical clinics. Beside, to investigate the relation among their feelings, age, sex, education level and area of living. On the other hand, nurses role for preparing the patients to the operation will win quality with this study. The example of study's 105 patients have been occured who stay in Uşak Goverment Hospital and 1 Eylül Goverment Hospital in surgical, urology, orthopedy and jinecology wards. Data has been collected by questionnare, and evaluated by computer with SPSS 13. programme. As the results of this study; it is determined that the patients have anxiety in pre- operative term. The gender is effective on anxiety and education level is effective on alexitimy too. Before having operation, and having knowledge about operation is effective on anxiety level too.
