u ABSTRACT Master of Science Thesis THE SYNTHESIS OF AMINOGLYOXIME DERIVATIVES AND THED* METAL COMPLEXES AND THE INVESTIGATION OF THEM BY SPECTROSCOPIC METHODS Filiz YILMAZ Anadolu University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Chemistry Program First Supervisor: Prof.Dr. Gazi İREZ Second Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Lale ZOR 2001 In this study, anti-chloroglyoxime was synthesized, which is reported in literature, and a new ligand constituted anti-chloroglyoxime and 2- aminobenzirnidazol were first synthesized and its complexes with some transition metal were obtained. In the first part of this study, 2-arninobenzimidazolglyoxime was synthesized by the reaction of anti-chloroglyoxime and 2-aminobenzimidazol in alcohol-water (1:1,5) system. In the second part of the work, complexes which have metal - ligand ratio of 1:1 and 3.2 obtained with Ni(II), Cu(II) and Co(II) ions were isolated and structures of the ligand and complexes were investigated by ^-NMR, IR, elemental analysis.
