Abstract (EN)
Byzantium Empire had great deal of impact on its architecture by accepting Christianity and consisting of many diverse countries in its boundaries. The early age of Byzantium encompasses the era from 4th to 7th centruies A.D. including the transition period. The roots of the Byzantium Architecture came from old Hellenic culture with the reflection of Roman and Eastern cultural traces on the architectural structures. At the A.D. 4th century, in the period of Constantine I, Christianity became an independent religious, and churches were built all over the country. After the Constantine I, other Byzantium Emperors carried out the evolving Byzantium architecture. In that period, Byzantium architecture reached its glory and uniqueness. Especially the most brilliant architectural structures were built in the emperor Justinian?s time. For a long time, Byzantium Empire had control on our nowadays-geographical area, which indicates architectural structures and cultural traces that remained from Byzantium Empire. Byzantine Civilization was established between east and west, and at the beginning Byzantine roots reflected western values which turned into the eastern values later on. In our study, we touched on the early architectural structure that starts from Konstantinos I to Justianos I. Nowadays the environment that we live on there are so many historical structures which have remained from Byzantines.
