Flood Risk Analysis with Analytical Hierarchy Process: The Case of Şuhut Sub-Basin

Abstract (EN)

In this research, AHP in the Şuhut region of Afyonkarahisar identifies potential flood hazard areas with multiple decision making method. In the study, the weights and effects of the seven different layers were obtained by the analytical hierarchy process. These criteria are; precipitation, slope, aspect, soil, land use, geology and proximity to the stream. (AHP) method is a decision-making method used in solving complex problems that includes multiple criteria. The (AHP) method is based on relative importance in the floods that occur. In the AHP method, the weights of the criteria were determined by pairwise comparison. Finally, a flood hazard index (FHI) was created by combining the parameter ratings and the relevant weights were tested with available meteorological maps. The results were compared with each other by evaluating the degrees of gravity in the Geographical Information Systems (ArcGIS 10.4) environment, and risky areas that would be affected by flooding were found in the study area. The analysis found that 44.44% of flooded danger zones were associated with high to very high flooding.
