This study was conducted with the purpose of determining the depression and life satisfaction levels of cancer patients and mother receiving chemotherapy.The study was carried on 51 patients and mothers receiving couchant chemotherapy in the Chemotherapy and Hematology couchant clinic in the Ankara University Cebeci Research hospital.The data were collected using a questionnaire determining the socio-demographic features and medical status of the patients. The Satisfaction With Life Scale and the Children Depression Scale were used respectivelyto determine the life satisfaction level and the depression level of the patients and mothers Beck Depression Scale , WHOQOL-BREF scale prepared by World Health Organization (WHO).Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, ki-kare test and mann-whitney u test.The mothers 88.2% of the subjects had depressive symptoms and children patients 100 % depressive symptoms. The mothers in general quality of life was hinher among individuals who were married and covered by a social security.It is considered that determining the psychosocial susceptibilities of the patients as wrll as their biological susceptibilities, and planning and conducting the needed initiatives accordingly will be positively instrumental for the progress of the treatment by improving the quality of life of both children and their families.Our renults has shown; there is close relation between cancer,depression and quality of life.Keywords: Cancer, Depression, Beck Depression İnvontery, Quality of life, WHOQOL-BREF.
