Abstract (EN)

This thesis was carried out to determine various production and egg quality traits of 3 brown egg layer parents (BAR1, L54, RIR1) and their crossbreds (BAR1HxBAR1Y,BYYVxBDCA, L54HxL54Y, RIR1HxRIR1Y, RDCAxRYYA, RIR1xRIR2, RIR2xRIR1).The study was conducted in compact type 3 floor individual cages according to randomized block design and each cage was considered as replicate. In this study 1000 hens were used for 64 weeks, the differences between parents and crossbreds in terms of the traits subjected to investigation was analyzed by one-way analysis of variance and Duncan Multiple Range Test was used to determine the differences between lines and crossbreeds for various traits. There were significant differences (P<0.05) in sexual maturity age and weight, egg weight, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, live weight at the end among BAR1 dam line and crossbreed dam strains. The differences (P>0.05) among them according to egg quality traits were found trivial. The difference between L54 dam line and L54HxL54Y crossbreed dam strain in sexual maturity age and weight, egg weight, feed intake, feed efficiency rate, live weight at the end, percentage hatchability of settable eggs were substantial (P<0.05). When RIR1 sire line and crossbreed sire strains were compared according to their egg shell strength, albumen height and Haugh unit, no significant difference was observed. However, there were significant differences (P<0.05) among them in sexual maturity weight, live weight at the end, egg production (hen housed-hen day), egg weight, feed intake, feed efficiency rate, percentage hatchability of settable eggs.
