Abstract (EN)
Due to Covid-19, some restrictions have been imposed on the private lives of tourism workers, just like everyone else. Due to these restrictions, a decrease in the quality of life of the tourism employees, who stay away from some recreational activities, in direct proportion to the feeling of not feeling well, constitutes an important problem. In this direction, the main purpose of the study is to measure the barriers to participation in recreational activities, subjective well-being, and quality of life of employees in five-star hotels in Antalya. The research population consists of hotel employees in Antalya. Within the scope of the research, data were collected from 400 tourism workers in Antalya. In this context, a 5-point Likert type scale was used in the research to determine what the barriers to participation in recreational activities consist of (Gürbüz et al. 2020). Oxford Happiness Inventory (Short Form), which was developed to measure subjective well-being and is frequently used to measure happiness in positive psychology was used in research (Doğan and Çötok, 2011). To measure the quality of life, by examining the international literature, Kim et al. (2015) quality of life scale was used. The thesis focuses on subjective well-being and quality of life within the scope of recreation. The survey method to be used in the research consists of 4 parts. In the first part, there are questions about the demographic characteristics of the participants. In the second part, the barriers to participation of employees in recreational activities, the third part is about subjective well-being, and the fourth part is about measuring their quality of life. When the findings obtained in this research were evaluated, it was concluded that the young population working in 5-star hotels in Antalya had higher perceptions of participating in recreational activities, they felt better both in business life and in daily life, and accordingly, their quality of life was better.
