Research on the fauna and taxonomy of Auchenorrhyncha (homoptera) in Antalya

IV RESEARCH ON THE FAUNA AND TAXONOMY OF AUCHENORRHYNCHA (HOMOPTERA) IN ANTALYA (Ph. D. Thesis) Emine DEMİR GAZİ UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCffiNCE AND TECHNOLOGY August, 2005 ABSTRACT Antalya, located in south-west Anatolia, is chosen as the working field of this study. Field works were carried out in the area between March and October in the years 1999, 2001-2003 and 7973 adult Auchenorrhyncha specimens were collected. These materials were prepared using standard laboratory data and they were identified using the literary data obtained. As a result of the identification, it was determined that the materials collected belonged to the species-group taxa consisting of 13 families, 129 genus and 201 species. Of these taxa, 186 species were identified. Of these, Paradorydium mustafai sp. n. was determined to be a new species. As for the other 15 taxa, they were determined in terms of genus and their situation was discussed in the section "results", together with their interim identifications. Synonyms, diagnostic features, ecological features obtained in the fields, host plants, geographical distributions and collection records of all the species determined were designed and presented according to their genus and family group taxa. As a consequence, of the taxa diagnosed, 2 genus and 14 species are new records for Turkey, and also 143 species are new for Antalya fauna.
