Abstract (EN)

This thesis analyzes single-domed Ottoman mosques and masjids in Antalya and its surrounding region.The dissertation consists of four basic chapters: Introduction, Catalogue, Assessment and Conclusion.In the introductory section, the description, objective and limits relating the main topic are explained along with the research method. This chapter also contains some details of the related resources and a brief history of Antalya.In the catalogue chapter, the whole architectural characteristics of the mosques and masjids built in Antalya during the Ottoman period are introduced individually.In the assessment chapter, architectural works are compared both within themselves and with the contemporary examples under the titles of plan, material, ornamentation, construction elements, facade elements and inscriptions.The conclusion chapter puts forward some thoughts depending upon the findings obtained through the research.Key Words: Antalya, Ottoman, Mosque, Masjid, Single dome, Architecture.
