Water disinfection on columns with antibacterial filling material

Savaş KOP ARAL 2002, 64 pages In this study, water disinfection has been implemented on columns with antibacterial filling material. The survival ratios of E.coli bacteria have been investigated for different flow rates, column temperatures, and initial bacteria concentrations on feedback systems. On the other hand, the effects of different column temperatures on disinfection have been searched on continuous systems, using solutions with certain E. Coli concentrations. The experiments have been carried out on columns having filling materials with extended surface area and with spherical shape. Furthermore, some other experiments have been performed with water samples, obtained from Porsuk River, indicating actual pollution conditions. Keywords: Antibacterial, Disinfection, Escherichia coli
