Abstract (EN)
This thesis investigates the impact of applying lean principles in Industry 4.0-driven factories on operational efficiency. By integrating lean practices with advanced technologies, employee engagement, and continuous improvement, the study identifies strategies to optimize manufacturing processes and gain a competitive advantage. Through a case study of a metal-cutting factory, the current state is evaluated using data collection, value stream mapping, and performance evaluation. The findings demonstrate reduced lead times, decreased work in process, improved productivity, and enhanced production rates. The study emphasizes the importance of employee engagement, technological integration, and continuous improvement. These insights provide valuable recommendations for organizations aiming to enhance their operations in the industry 4.0 context, contributing to the knowledge on the synergies between lean principles and Industry 4.0 in driving manufacturing efficiency.
