The effect of critical success factors in R&D projects on technology transfer performance

Abstract (EN)

Along with technological developments, various policies are produced in the field of science and technology in the national and international framework. Research and development (R&D) project success is often more complex than other engineering project success, and performance of projects is difficult to evaluate. R&D initiatives are becoming more and more important and technology transfer performances and critical success factors are established for R&D projects. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the relationship between critical success factors in Turkey and technology transfer performance in technology projects by determining the project success criteria in order to explore the understanding of project success and technology transfer performance in technology companies in Turkey. In this context, the data collected by applying a questionnaire to 202 participants working in the management of R&D projects in the Defense Industry were analyzed in the IBM SPSS program. As a result of the analysis of the factors affecting technology transfer performance, six factors were determined as the target of the project, senior management support, project schedule, project team, technical studies, control and follow-up. The relationships and effects between these factors are presented as the findings of the study.
