Reflection of figuratory descriptions in archeological finds on undergraduate students' pictures (Urartian Civilization sample)

Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research; the reveal the effect of figurative depictions of Urartian civilization on the paintings the students of painting education. The study group of the research consists of 49 undergraduate students of 3rd and 4th grades studying at Gazi University, Van Yüzüncü Yıl University and Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University. In the research, mixed method was used by considering qualitative and quantitative methods. Scanning model is included in the study. The pre-test and post-test questions were presented to the students, and the pictures they made were evaluated with descriptive analysis. In the post-test, it was observed that they showed a remarkable improvement in their existing knowledge levels and as a result of the dependent sample t-test, a significant difference was found between the pre-test and post-test scores in favor of the posttest. It has been observed that most of the students reflect the figurative depictions with their own styles in contemporary understanding. In addition, it was concluded that less than half of the students could not build on anything from themselves by adhering to the figures of civilization.
