Abstract (EN)

It has a multidimensional and complex process, integrated with water resources planning, economy, quality of life and living standards. The management of water resources should cover all activities that will ensure the most efficient use of water resources within the framework of the foreseen objectives and within the foreseen criteria. In order to determine the optimal operating policies in a multi-reservoir water resources system consisting of series of reservoirs connected to each other in series, issues such as energy production, irrigation and drought management are generally taken into consideration in the long term planning. In the context of long-term planning, dynamic programming optimization techniques and simulation models are generally preferred for energy-optimization studies in terms of non-linearity of energy production function. This study focuses on energy optimization in the context of long-term optimal operation in a multi-reservoir water resources system connected to each other in the Lower Kızılırmak Basin. In this study, multi-purpose and multi-reservoir water resources system, which are connected to each other, have been defined. A long-term planning operation optimization model has been developed for this system. This model was applied to the Obruk, Boyabat, Altınkaya and Derbent Reservoirs located on the main branch of the Lower Kızılırmak River. After defining the mathematical relationships for the reservoirs system in the basin, an optimization model for optimal energy generation has been established on the system. In the model, optimization optimization with sequential approximation is used as the optimization technique. The objective function in optimization is two-stage, in the first stage, it is aimed to increase the total energy by being used as a limitation in reliable energy model with the monthly dry-term currents and in the second stage as reliable in the model. When analyzed the mimimum and normal operatinonal levels for these purposes, it was concluded that large-scale reservoirs managed the optimization process. Also, when the results obtained from the model in terms of energy production are examined, it is seen that time gives better results than other approaches Keywords: Multi-reservoir System, Long Term Planning, Energy Optimization
