It is known that minstrels serve very important functions in the intergenerational transmission of Turkish culture by both re-performing master works and producing new literary / musical works in accordance with traditional criteria. The tradition of minstrelsy is kept alive as an important dimension of cultural life in the Eastern Anatolia Region of Turkey, with tradition-specific rituals such as "quarrel", "muamma" and "lebdeğmez" and in meeting places known as "minstrels' coffee", although it is not as common as it was in the past. One of the important centres where the minstrel tradition maintain is the province of Van. In Van, where important representatives of the minstrel tradition grew up, minstrels named Âşık Celâli, Âşık Çağlari, Dertli Kazım, Âşık Ruhi, Âşık Doğani, Garip Ergül, Zeki Ayhan, Âşık Emin and Âşık İsmail stand out as the prominent representatives who carried the tradition to the present day.In this study, it is aimed to describe the literary features of Celal YENİTÜRK's artistic life and works, known as "Âşık Celâli".
