Aşık Hasan Dede

In this study, beliefs, rituals, and legends related to Gazi Âşık Hasan Dede, whose tomb is located in the village of Hasandede in Kırıkkale province, have been compiled based on the accounts of the village residents. The knowledge of the residents of Hasandede was consulted, and the beliefs, practices, and rituals that remained in their memory were compiled. Some of the legends collected about Gazi Âşık Hasan Dede were examined with a motif-centered approach, while others were analyzed with a context-centered approach. Although the legends told in the village are widely known, they were sifted and analyzed in the study to avoid repetition. The collected beliefs and practices were examined in terms of their origins and contexts. Poems titled "Gazi Âşık Hasan Dede" in basic folk literature anthologies were included as the second part of the research but were not subjected to analysis to stay focused on the main topic. This field study initially set out to determine whether Gazi Âşık Hasan Dede and Tameşvarlı Âşık Hasan were the same person. However, it was realized that to answer this question, it would be necessary to scan all manuscript collections and compile and examine the poems of all poets using the pseudonym "Hasan." Although this question, which requires many years of work, was left open-ended, opinions on the subject were included in the study. This research touches upon topics such as the history and geography of Hasandede village. In the last section, poems of Gazi Âşık Hasan Dede were also included. The main part of the study, consisting of products of folk literature and folklore, was obtained through field compilation. These products were subjected to various analyses and evaluations to derive conclusions about the cultural fabric, beliefs, and rituals of the people in Hasandede village. As a result of the research, it was concluded that studies on Gazi Âşık Hasan Dede should be increased. It was determined that his saintly personality should be recorded through compilations, and his poet aspect should be researched by following the manuscripts. This study is field research that evaluates the beliefs, practices, and legends formed around the tomb of Gazi Âşık Hasan Dede in the village of Hasandede in Kırıkkale province from different perspectives.
