Abstract (EN)

In this study, prepared with scanning document method, it is aimed to put forth the citizenship opinions of İsmail Hakkı Baltacıoğlu, İsmail Hakkı Tonguç, Hasan-Âli Yücel and Halil Fikret Kanad, who are among Atatürk period's educationists. When we understand the newly founded government's important position educators' citizenship opinions, we can easily understand that period's government politics and education approaches. These educators became famous in the first years of republic and they succeeded many important educational activities and projects. For country's development, they conducted educational studies and with these they aimed to access the wanted person and wanted citizen. These very important educationists made significant contributions to the government's citizenship goals with their education approaches, opinions and innovations. This new citizenship profile which improved through republic and Atatürk principles, was supported with innovations and reforms and also with educational activities by educationists. When we look to the wanted citizenship, that belongs national and moral values, secular and nationalist and completed their educations. It was intended to raise citizens working for their country, giving importance to country's benefits, became mature as body, mind and mentality. Hardworking and volunteer for country's development studies were targeted.
