The French language politique of European Union, European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML)

In a globalizing world language has become more important. Language is efficient in the survival and continuance of societies and cultures. For this reason, language is regarded not just because as a means for communication. It?s seen that both national and international studies regarding the language have given a rise due to its effect on the transfer of the cultures identified with the language to the future generations. This study has been prepared beginning from the idea that the importance of the language will be more important in a globalizing world in which the language has already importance in individual, cultural and thinking life. While the language maximizes the effect and usage of certain languages in international extent it also bears the limited usage of certain languages.Primarily, the importance of the language and the concepts regarding the language were explained in brief. In second chapter information was given concerning the short history, definition and basic principles regarding the language education policies of the European Council, ECML (European Centre for Modern Languages). The character of the teaching foreign language in Turkey was explicated. In third chapter, The language policy of European was undertaken. In the fourth chapter, Union criterias that might be useful in the education and teaching of French as a foreign language by means of the language teaching policies of European Council, especially that of CELV were mentioned and the teachers and students were offered some suggestions on this issue and after this we mentioned language learning and teaching in the context of twin countries , a survey of experiences and needs.
