Abstract (EN)

In the neoliberal world, economic, ecological, political and social crises, the dramatic increase in global poverty and inequality as a result of internal conflicts, wars, produce effects that significantly change and multiply the forms, levels and trends of international migration. Global migration movements add new dimensions to classical migration forms, methods, orientations and policies. Widespread migration behaviors such as immigration and refugee, are diversified by new immigration types like asylum seeking and irregular border crossings, also the settled immigration policies such as assimilation, acculturation, with new policy designs like integration, social cohesion, and the classical migration theories such as push-pull theory and system theory, with new propositions like transnational space and migration network theories. On the other hand, factors such as the rise of new-right and in this context xenophobia as reflexes that emerged in developed countries against the socio- economic and political consequences produced by the mass and irregular migration wave from the global south to the global north, and also the Islamophobia in the Western world after the terrorist acts carried out by jihadist organizations in Europe and America, especially the September 11 attacks, produce important effects that determine the relations of immigrants of Turkish origin with the state and society of the country they live in. This thesis aims to examine the tools and methods used by immigrants who settled in Sweden after immigrating from Turkey to Sweden for various reasons and still live in Sweden, in order to adapt to the host society and the state, and in this context, the effects and consequences of the ways of establishing and using migrant networks among themselves, on their ability and performance of integration, in the sample of classified data set based on economic, personal, social, class, ethnic, cultural and political scales obtained by survey and interview methods, and in the theoretical light of the migration networks theory.
