Abstract (EN)

During the time until Industrial Revolution, ceramics, which was developed with the impacts of different cultures in the World, was perceived as a discipline identified with functionality in the direction of different fields and objectives. Influence on the society and art caused by conditions created by Industrial Revolution grounded in Europe within an innovative perspective put the ceramic art into process where it will progress by taking it out of contexts. Cults and artistic movements formed together with this development process stimulated with the effect of Industrial Revolution reflected on today's ceramic art and caused modernist approaches and classifications. Thus, the first step to Modern Ceramic Art was taken in Europe. In a research done on development of modern ceramics in Europe, the place, position and scope of ceramics today in general, impacts that prepared modernization and the process is given in chronological order, by mentioning the main countries that played a role in development adventure of ceramics, information and examples on European artists has been presented.
