Abstract (EN)
In this study, the performance of the Tuned Liquid Dampers (TLD) is investigated by using two way fluid structure interaction method. The two way fluid structure interaction model is created by the help of ANSYS MECHANICAL and FLUENT moduls existing in ANSYS WORKBENCH. The model, created by the help of two way fluid structure interaction method is verified with the experimental studies existing in the literature and carried out with a simple structure with an aluminum beam and concrete blok on the beam. Performance comparison is carried out by using the deformation data of the structure with TLD and without TLD. Performance comparison is carried out in two step, transient and steady state deformation and the simulation is performed with different amplitude and frequency input parameters with two different mass ratio of TLD. The effect of the mass ratio can not be recognized in transient performance but it is seen that mass ratio has a significant effect on steady state solutions. While with the mass ratio of 0.03, the maximum damping of the structure in steady state condition is 15%, it increases to 42% with the mass ratio of 0.06.
