Usage and development of cotton harvester in Aydın region

In this study, it was aimed to determine the usage and the trend of cotton harvester machine in Aydın region. For this purpose, a survey was conducted with 6 cotton harvester agencies and 35 local farmers owing a harvester. The maximum sample volume method was employed to determine the number of harvester owners. The relationship between the number of harvester and the area of cotton field in the past 10 years was studied in order to have a projection of the amount of harvester for the next 10 years. The results of survey study demonstrated the difficulties associated with cotton production, the usage possibilities of these machines, the opportunity that agencies supply to the farmers and current problems in the harvester market. The result of this study suggested that the estimated number of cotton harvester in Aydın region will be reaching up to 383 for the year of 2018.
