Abstract (EN)
Renewable energy sources are led by solar energy. Solar energy is the type of energy generated through the fusion process that occurs when hydrogen gas is transformed into helium. Renewable and sustainable energy is obtained from sunlight that reflects off the Earth. In this study, a water distillation system has been established. Clean water has been obtained from saltwater at different mirror angles in a solar-powered system. In the experimental setup, the inner mirrors were fixed while the outer mirrors were adjusted to various angles such as 30°, 45°, and 60° for repeated experiments. Three external fans were used to cool the condensation surface in the experiment. The experiments were conducted under laboratory conditions at Erzurum Technical University's Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. This study demonstrates, as a result of five hours of experiments, that the fans and the adjustable tilt of the outer mirrors significantly increased the amount of clean water distilled from saltwater. While the amount of distilled clean water obtained without fans and mirrors was 37,13 gr the amount rose to 194,63 gr in the experiment with fans, inner mirrors, and an inclination of 30°. Additionally, the efficiency was found to be 23,73%. The experiments were also repeated under external environmental conditions. During the experiments, external environmental conditions (solar radiation and ambient temperature), the temperature of the outer glass surface, and the temperatures of the inner surfaces were measured. Overall, this study observed a positive effect of different mirror angles on obtaining clean water from saltwater.
