Abstract (EN)

Relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey have a long and great period both historically and culturally. The first contact of the relations between the two countries began in the XIX century and has developed until today through difficult periods for both countries. However, the relations between the two countries gained a new dimension and expanded after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the re-independence of Azerbaijan. TURKSOY (International Organization of Turkic Culture) was established by 6 Turkic states due to the developments in the Turkic World in this period and the declaration of the independence of the Turkic states, the creation of the Turkic Union and the recognition of the riches of the Turkic World all over the world. Through this organization, cooperation between the Turkic states was ensured along with the opening and promotion of the Turkic World to the whole world. As the first organization established in the Turkic World, TURKSOY's main purpose is to strengthen the unity and ties between the Turkic peoples connected to the Turkic World, and to strive to introduce the common Turkish culture to the world by transferring it to future generations. In this context, in this study, the role, place and influence of TURKSOY organization in Azerbaijan-Turkey relations were discussed.
