Abstract (EN)
Gravestones and inscriptions are an indicator of the cultural heritage left to us by our ancestors. Gravestones, which are historical documents, are lost or seriously damaged due to natural causes, neglect and neglect. The tombstones in the Thrace region, where the foundations of the Ottoman Empire were laid, also suffered from this destruction. The fact that gravestones, which are living examples of our history, are being damaged and destroyed day by day shows how important the work to be done in this field is. In this study covering the centers and villages of Babaeski and Kofçaz, tombstones and inscriptions that were in danger of being lost or forgotten, especially in the villages, were identified. It was aimed to contribute to the studies in this field by preparing the identity of the stones found and transferring the Ottoman writings on them to today's alphabet.
