Bâkî's style of sounds

This study scrutinizing Bâkî?s Poetry published by Sabahattin Küçük is a stylistic one and it aims to reveal the poet?s ways of providing rhythm and harmony in poetry. Findings of the discipline of Rhetoric about harmony were regarded in the study. Phonetics was used in the speech analysis. Different considerations of modern practices in textual analysis were utilized. If the characteristics and frames of Ottoman (Divan) Poets? styles are researched, what they say in their poems can be understood more clearly. Laying emphasis on the figures making up linguistic structures of poetry such as the way Ottoman (Divan) poets use rhythm, the functions of lengthening the syllable for the rhythm and med lengthening the sound of letters as rhetoric, figures of harmony, selection of rhymes, dealing with either word or suffix repeated after rhymes as connotative figures, parallel and symmetrical sentence structures forming the couplets, short and elliptical expressions, various repetitions and their enrichments in the meaning, and also emphasizing other literary figures, will reveal the artistic features of their literary works clearly. In this study, aiming to reveal the rhythm and harmony in the poems of Bâkî who is stated as a great poet of vocals in literature, the poems of the poet were analyzed in terms of sound, words and repetition of group of words, use of rhythm and rhymes. The poet provided the rhythm by using rhymes, sequencing, syntax, sentence structures and repetitions; achieved the harmony by use of figures of vocals, repetitions, alliteration, assonance and parallelism. Bâkî achieved the vocal-content relation successfully. The figures making up the harmony in his poetry were used not only as aesthetics but also in a way enriching the meaning and reflecting the content. Bâkî is a poet who enjoys using sounds harmoniously. His poetry is based on harmony in its entirety. Although there is no depth of meaning in his couplets, there is a strike of harmony at first glance. The poet intended to unveil, draw attention, impact, emphasize, reflect and recall by using different ways of harmony. He also formed a strong rhythmic structure in his poetry. Saying ?Bâkî kalan bu kubbede bir hoş sadâ imiş? in one of his verses, the poet gives us a pleasant reflection of him and canonizes his poetry with sounds of Turkish language. Key Words 1. Harmony 2.
