Evaluation of job satisfaction among emergency service nurse in Bakuba

Abstract (EN)

In this study, job satisfaction of nurses working in emergency services in Baquba city of Iraq was evaluated. The study population consisted of all nurses working in hospitals in Baquba Governorate of Iraq. Job Descriptive Index (JDI), Job In General (JIG) and Job Satisfaction Scale (JSS) were used to collect samples. The data obtained were analysed with SPSS statistical package programme. At the end of the research, the following findings were obtained. JSS scale sub-dimensions of salary, promotion, administration, social benefits and rights, working procedures, co-workers, nature of work, communication did not differ according to gender, marital status, presence of children in the family, age, educational level, and professional experience. JSS (Total) Scale did not differ according to gender, age, educational level, professional experience, monthly income, marital status and presence of children in the family. JDI Scale work sub-dimension did not differ according to gender, age, educational level, professional experience, monthly income, marital status and presence of children in the family. JDI Salary Subdimension did not differ according to gender, but it did not differ according to age, educational level, and professional experience, but it differed according to marital status. JDI Scale Promotion sub-dimension did not differ according to gender, age, educational level, professional experience, marital status and presence of children in the family, but it differed according to monthly income. JDI Scale Management sub-dimension did not differ according to gender, age, educational level, professional experience, marital status and presence of children in the family, but it differed according to monthly income. JDI Scale Co-workers sub-dimension did not differ according to gender, educational level, professional experience, monthly income, marital status and presence of children in the family, but it differed according to age. JIG (General Job Satisfaction Scale) Scale did not differ according to gender, age, education level, professional experience, monthly income, marital status and presence of children in the family, but it differed according to monthly income.
