Abstract (EN)
Kosovo declared its independence on the 17th of February, 2008.As an independent country for six years Kosovo, is a present to them from history and background. According to Serbians,Kosovo is a present to them from history and has a moral importance therefore is believed to be an indispensible part of Serbia. Albanians, who constitute %96 of Kosovo, reply to claims of Serbian's historical rights by pointing to their ancestors. To figure out the Serbian-Albanian challenge and today's enmity, it is necessary to research the historical structure of Kosovo and The Balkans that Kosovo is a part of. The Balkans is a region that has accomodated a variety of nations and civilizations throughout history. However, because of its historical properties, any one civilization or state couldn't rule over The Balkans completely. In time, the region created its own micro civilization. It wasn't possible to provide peacefulness in this region where various nations were. In fact Slavs, the most important ethnic element of this location and the troops that they set up in time made the Balkans Balkanize. The problems in the centre of an agitated Kosovo began to arise during the century of nationalism, during the time when the Ottoman command was ending a real ethnic problem with the Yugoslavian Union began. The Serbian's ethnic movement problem in the 1990s was rendered an international problem which caused NATO intervention. First Kosovo's Albanians gained their sovereignty, than came under limited independence followed lastly by full independence.
