Abstract (EN)

In this study, religious questions and answers given to the Alo Fetvâ 190 hotline, which operates under the Balıkesir Provincial Mufti's Office, between 2017 and 2022 were examined from a jurisprudential perspective. Considering the religious sensitivities and the intensity of the questions, these questions were classified and evaluated in the light of relevant sources in order to better understand the religious understanding and needs of the people of Balıkesir. In the study, the questions were divided into main headings such as faith, worship, family life and halals-harams, and jurisprudential evaluations were made by analyzing the questions and answers under each heading. As a result of these analyses based on the primary and secondary sources of Islam, issues that the people are frequently curious about in religious matters and the characteristics specific to the religious language in Balıkesir were determined. This study analyzes the religious knowledge and sensitivities of the people of Balıkesir and provides data that can be a model for other cities. The study, which aims to increase the quality of mufti services and to provide more effective answers to the religious questions of the public, is based on the adaptation of the religious services of the Balıkesir Provincial Mufti's Office to local needs and the evaluation of the fatwas issued in terms of Islamic jurisprudence.
