Analysis of Balıkesir Pullusu works

"Analysis of the Balıkesir Pullusu (needle lace bridal gown) Works" has been determined as the subject of the research. The aim of the research is to document the variety, material, technique, motif, color and composition characteristics of the Balıkesir Pullusu, to ensure that the original samples are passed on to future generations, and to gain knowledge of the disciplines areas related to crafts and handicrafts. The population of this research consists of works made with Balıkesir Pullusu. This research is a descriptive research based on survey model. Information forms were applied to 26 works, general and detailed photographs were taken, and the patterns were drawn in Adobe Illustrator 2020 program in computer. The information obtained from the information forms was converted into numerical data in the form of tables and graphics and presented in the research findings and comments section of the research. In the research, the Balıkesir Pullusu embroidery technique is mostly applied on wedding dresses, and in recent years, there has been a search for innovation and clothing, accessories, home accessories, etc. has been diversified. It was determined that silk fabric was used on the ground, gold, copper and silver colors were used in embroidery, and needle lace was used in the decoration, and engrailings were used in the decoration. It has been seen that linen fabric, ready-made lace and sewing thread are the most used tools in edge cleaning and lining. Relief wrapping technique, knurling needle technique, herringbone stitch technique were generally used in the embroidery of the works. It has been observed that the mostly herbs decorations were applied in the embroidery, and the object and geometric decorations were also used, In the leitmotifs of the works, compositions presented as a single unit by combining the motifs and compositions arranged in a regular order were used intensively.
