Strength and weak side's of participation banking and position of participation banking in the banking system

ABSTRACT Growing and increasingly globalized economic system is a sine qua non of a healthy and strong financial system and banking system. The essential element of the banking system; The assessment of savings is that the resources collected are mediated by the support of the economy financing and the carrying out of the methodical activity processes. Individuals and societies, who do not want to participate in the banking system where interest has taken place due to religious sensitivities, have been opened through interest-free banking or participation banks in order to participate in the system. Nowadays, the participation banks which are growing in world banking and operating in line with Islamic principles, contribute to the development of the economy through the function of earning idle funds and interest-free financing models. Participation banking, which started to take place in the Turkish banking sector in the 1980s, now contributes to the Turkish economy with five participation banks. In this study, the place of the participation banks in the Turkish banking sector, we aimed to determine their strengths and weaknesses. In this regard, the participation of banking products and services has been evaluated and the numerical data is compared with the banking sector. Achieved results according to type of deposits of commercial banks and participation banks in the absence of an alternative to banking, with financial products that comply with Islamic principles that provides diversity in the banking sector the Turkish banking sector and Turkish economy, it was inferred that contributes to.
