Abstract (EN)
Concrete; cement, aggregate water and appropriate additives in certain proportions obtained by mixing at the same time is a preferred composite material in many places today. The type of aggregate, which is one of the constituents of concrete, directly affects the properties of concrete such as strength, abrasion, impermeability and service life. The aim of this study is to use the water we use in various fields thanks to the dams, without having problems for a longer period of time by extending the economic life of the dams. Generally, dams are subjected to the erosion effect of sediment, gravel and soil carried in the water, which shortens the service life of the dams. In this study, 8 different types of concrete were produced from limestone, granite and quartzite aggregates and compressive strength and abrasion values were determined. In order to measure the abrasion values, Böhme abrasion and underwater ball abrasion tests were applied to the samples produced after the Los Angeles test. According to the results of the Los Angeles test, it is the granite with the highest abrasion resistance among the aggregates. When the results of bohme abrasion and underwater ball abrasion tests were examined, it was found that the abrasion resistance of the aggregate content of the samples was high. When the compressive strength results of the samples with the same content are examined, the whole of the sample with the highest resistance is granite. According to these results, it is observed that the abrasion resistance of concrete is directly proportional to the compressive strength of concrete and abrasion resistance of aggregate.
