vMULTIPLE COMPARISIONS PROCEDURES AND EXAMPLES UNDERSIMPLE ORDER ASSUMPTION(M.Sc. Thesis)Sümeyye ÇINARGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYFebruary 2007ABSTRACTSimple ordered alternative hypotheses are defined as whose means areordered from the biggest to the smallest and vice versa. Under this simpleorder assumption, the first statistical studies date back to 1900s. Since thenthere have been lots of developments. The aim of this work is to examinesome of the methods used under simple order assumption. For this purpose, the analyses were made using the real-world data set by choosing fourmethods. As a result, the null hypotesis was rejected and it was concludedthat the population means which the data came from was suitable for simpleorder.Science Code : 205.1.066Key Words : Multiple comparisions, Prosedur H, Protected t-testPage Number : 68Adviser : Asst.
