Abstract (EN)

Measuring the quality of life of individuals and determining the factors affecting the quality of life are the main objectives of quality of life studies. In the measurement of quality of life in different populations; Designing scales suitable for special groups has become an important part of new research approaches. University students are one of the different populations for which a special scale was designed with this new understanding. The aims of this thesis study are: To apply the University Life Quality Scale to students of Başkent University. To evaluate the quality of university life and its impact on students' general quality of life, overall life satisfaction, and identification with the university, as well as their satisfaction with academic, facilities, and social aspects. To evaluate whether these factors have any effects on students' general quality of life, overall life satisfaction, and identification with the university. To contribute to the institutional context and future studies with the results obtained by the analysis of the data collected in line with the hypotheses examined. An online survey was administered to a randomly selected sample of the students studying at Başkent University Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Health Sciences, which was large enough and qualified to represent the 3rd and 4th grade population in these faculties Students' academic satisfaction was medium-high with an average of 3.88, their satisfaction in terms of facilities and services was medium-high with an average of 4.31, and their social satisfaction was medium-high with an average of 3.70. The average quality of life of the students was 3.51, the average of general life satisfaction was 2.71, and the average of identification with the university was 3.55. As a result of the structural equation model established, it was found that academic (β = 0.825) and social satisfaction (β = 0.324) had a significant effect on the overall quality of life; that academic satisfaction also has a significant effect on identification with university (β=0.431); that general quality of life has a significant (β=0,448) effect on general life satisfaction; It was found that the effect of general life satisfaction on identification with university (β=0.202) was significant (p<0.05). In conclusion, this study provide direction on what can be done to increase the quality of education and training, to develop-improve, and to improve the subjective quality of life, and it is aimed to make scientific contributions to different quality of university life studies.
