A study on the city image of Batman province

One of the most important elements for the branding of a city is image. Nowadays, it is known that the administrators of many cities, as well as institutions, are working on creating a city image and making the created image permanent. The aim of the studies carried out in the image creation process is to create a positive image through associations related to the city. City image is formed in the minds of individuals through the films they watch, news, books, magazines they read, information spread about the city and the trial and error they obtain as a result of their own experiences, and this information creates a positive or negative image of the city. In this context, our research aims to reveal how Batman is perceived by the students studying at Batman University. For this purpose, literature research was conducted in the first two sections, and in the last section, theoretical information about the province of Batman was given, and then the results of the questionnaire applied to 452 students were evaluated based on the students studying at Batman University. Quantitative research method was utilised in the study. Random sampling method was preferred as a sample. The data obtained were evaluated using SPSS 22.0.0 statistical programme. Although the answers given as a result of the research seem to be close to each other, it was determined that Batman province has a negative image perception among students in general. However, according to the result of the research, it was also determined that male students had more positive thoughts than female students. Keywords: Image, Destination Attraction, City image.
