Abstract (EN)

In this study, mutagenic effects of five different derivates of 2-Sübstitüe 1H- fenantro [9,10-d] imidazoles prepared premise of drug were investigated using Salmonella typhimuriwn TA 97 and TA 98 containing frameshift mutation with Ames assay. Therefore, both test strains were tested in the absence or presence of S9 metabolic activation, for five different doses of each test substances in two parallel independent experiments. Results were evaluated by calculating avarage of two experiments. At the absence of S9, Sodyum Azid was used as a positive control for TA 97, 4-Nitro-o-Fenilendiamin was used for T A 98. At the presence of S9, 2- Aminofiuorene was used as a positive control for both test strains. Solvent Dimetyl sulphoxyd (DMSO) and spontan control groups were used as a negative control. Results of experiments were compared with positive and negative control groups data. So that 2-Metil-Fenantroimidazole and Fenantroimidazole were found to have mutagenic activation only in the presence of S9 but other three derivatives show mutagenic effects. This mutagenic effect observed may be depend on the metabolic activation. Keywords: Ames Assays, Mutagenity Tests, Fenantroimidazole
